Built in the 1800's this tunnel is now part of the Tissington trail running from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne. Its a bits dark and dingy but it is a tunnel after all. Good surface to cycle on.Full review by fluffymonkey

Hi, could anyone tell me if the Tissington trail is suitable for walking dogs on leads? Or is the route really crowded by cyclists. We are thinking of visiting the area in early June. Many Thanks

We have just come back from visiting Ashbourne and walked along the Tissington trail with our five month old pup on a lead. Obviously at this time of year not too busy so it was pleasant. I can imagine it would be a lot busier early June but still not too bad as the schools have not broken up. There does seem to be an unwritten code of pedestrians on left and cyclists on right. Pedestrians have right of way apparently. As anywhere give and take is the order of the day. You can see far enough ahead to know what's coming. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
