Dry, dusty trail with nothing to see. I went north from the information. I couldn’t see the river, but did see some railroad tracks. It was hot with no real shade. Waste of time.Full review by alohacjm49

It is pretty sparse for Hotels in that area, you would probably have to go across the river into Winona Minnesota, or into the town of Trempealeau itself. From Downtown Trempealeau to the northern terminus at Hwy 35 looks to be about 8.5 miles by way of the Great River State Trail through the TNWR.
