You will go to the memorial parking lot, all the walking exits lead to the front gate, after through that you’ll see restrooms and gift shops and a guide shop, keep walking and your right at the flags. You’ll see the memorial from here. There is an area for presentations by local tribes, movies, and gift shops, oh and the ice cream shop. You can take walking paths from here also, they are no joke, lots of steps, part way is sidewalk type walking. There is a amphitheater to set and watch presentations scheduled and the evening show, in my opinion the lighting ceremony isn’t great but when you’re there why not?

yes there's a railing around the steps. Go counterclockwise around as it's less of an incline. Be aware there is a LOT of steps if you do the circle path but we felt it was worth it. …
