Lovely local gem of a park - right on the edge of town in adorable Yachats. The park sits where the Yachats River comes in from the ocean so it’s a tidal area and changes greatly depending on the tim… Full review by TravelingMerm

Yachats State Park is located on a trail along the coastline offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Nearby is a hidden gem, a marsh beautifully restored and maintained. Full review by Jog4fun

The first bit of information that I should provide is that fall foliage in the northwest, while beautiful, is not the same as fall foliage in the northeast. The preponderance of evergreen or coniferous trees simply limits the typical fall colors to a few deciduous trees and the western larch or Tamarack which is typically found at higher elevations and is actually a conifer that sheds its needles each year. That said, if you are starting at Yachats, then driving north on highway 101 from Yachats to Cannon Beach, the drive will provide some great opportunities to see Oregon's coastline and some of the fall foliage. The Oregon coast is spectacular at any time of the year. Highway 6 should be a good route to drive as it will take you across the coastal mountain range and through the Tillamook State Forest. You can access highway 6 either at Tillamook on the coast or near Banks Oregon outside of Portland. Access at Banks is from highway 26. Other areas that should be good for fall foliage include around Mt. Hood, near Sisters Oregon in eastern Oregon, or the Columbia River Gorge.
