Built in 1818, the Hampton-Preston Mansion has long been associated with the elite antebellum families who are its namesakes. Today, the Hampton-Preston Mansion operates as a historic house museum where visitors learn about the experiences of all the people who lived and worked at this site during its 200-year history. Business hours reflect the tour time. All tours start at the Gift Shop at Robert Mills, located across Blanding Street. Gardens are free and open to the public: Monday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Sunday: 1 – 4 p.m. The Gardens at the Hampton-Preston Mansion provide a picturesque setting for your special event! The tour guide, Emily, was great. Very informative. The house is very nice with the dining room done with a recent mural on all walls from a local artist. The gardens are very nice as well. Full review by SaminDC

The ‘grounds’ were not in good shape - maybe we were ahead of the season? Our tour was 18 people and they said a maximum of 8-12. Our guide, while earnest, but not well prepared in her presentation. Full review by shayfree
