Hi there. Can anybody tell me how to reach Mehrangarh fort from Jaswant Thada? means is it at a walking distance or some local auto/ rickshaw/taxi must be hired?

It's about a km uphill, hire the autos there they charge Rs. 50. After 10 am several autos are there in the stand, before that there may not be even a single one.

Hi there, it's not necessary to have a guide, read up your travel guide book. It was nice to have a guide to walk around the Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park around the lake. Read about it on their website raojodhapark. TA does not allow me to include the website lilnk. We had an excellent guide, name of Harsh. I can't tell you the cost as it was included in our ticket to the performances at the Jodhpur World Sacred Spirit Festival early this year. But it is an excellent project, so I'd pay to keep it going.They're doing great work. I would go very early morning to be in front of the mausoleum when the sun comes up and moves across the gorgeous white marble. In winter we got there around 6.30am but in summer would be earlier.
