Hi, I used a guide called Sammy Kassaw. He can be contacted at: samuel x kassaw xx gmail x com where x is a dot and xx is @ He organised everything - he was really professional and keen. The food was also excellent, and he provided a tent etc. I arranged my own flights to Gonder and Sammy picked me up there at my hotel and then dropped me off there again at the end of the trekking. It's best to send him an email saying what you would like to do. I did a 7 day trek. He can suggest a good itinerary, depending on your dates. I recommend Ras Dejen (4543m) which is the highest peak in Ethiopia :-) Hope this helps, Peter McNair

Hi, I was worried as well, but the opposite was truth. Suprisingly, gummy boots are perfect for the slippery rocks, because the are much more stable than normal hiking boots. So in the end, I wore gummy boots even during dry sections of our climbing.:-)
