Harvard President Alan M. Garber ’76 announced a University-wide staff and faculty hiring freeze in a message to Harvard affiliates Monday morning, citing uncertainty under the Trump administration.

President Donald Trump has signed a multitude of executive orders that have universities across the nation in a panic.

The hiring pause at one of the nation’s wealthiest schools comes after other schools have also announced efforts to save money.
