Astronomers finally spotted evidence of auroras on Neptune after years of searching, raising new questions about the planet.

In a study published on Wednesday in the journal Nature Astronomy, scientists say unique auroras are visible on either side of Neptune’s equator. This discovery will allow scientists to study aspects of Neptune that have previously been out of reach.
