Multiple students were injured after a car crashed into people outside a primary school in central China Tuesday morning, Chinese state new agency Xinhua reported.

The casualty count was unclear and authorities are yet to clarify if the incident at Yong'an Elementary School in the city of Changde, China, was an accident or a deliberate attack

State broadcaster CCTV reported that "many schoolchildren were injured" in Tuesday's incident, but said the "specific casualties" were still being investigated.
