OAKLAND – Two East Bay BART stations were back open Thursday morning following a “major medical emergency” created when a train fatally hit a person, officials said. The emergency happened just before 9 p.m. at the Fruitvale BART station, BART spokesperson Anna Duckworth said in a recorded message.

A train struck and killed a person in the East Bay on Monday night, BART confirmed to KRON4. BART received a report of a person entering the trackway at the Hayward station just before 9 p.m. The person was struck and killed between the Hayward and South Hayward stations.
