As Starlink has come online, it has significantly increased the valuation of the privately held company. A decade ago, SpaceX was valued at about $12 billion, and this grew to $36 billion in 2020. Most recently, the company was valued at about $255 billion.

The massive rocket is at the center of the company’s ambitions for space exploration, and Elon Musk’s longtime plan to send people to Mars.

SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell has announced that the company plans to significantly increase the number of Starship launches during the presidency of Donald Trump, who won the recent U.S. election.

SpaceX has stacked its Starship megarocket ahead of the vehicle's sixth test flight, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (Nov. 19).
