An Irving police officer has died after being involved in a crash while he was off-duty this week. The Irving Police Department said there was a multi-vehicle accident on Nov. 15 involving Officer Jerome Scholz.

A 38-year-old Irving police officer was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon, officials said. Officer Jerome Scholz was off-duty when the accident occurred, according to an Irving Police Department news release. He died at a local hospital less than an hour later.
