Jordan Henderson did not wear the captain's armband for Ajax in their Europa League clash against Galatasaray as speculation persists about a move to Monaco.

Jordan Henderson is in talks over a free transfer from Ajax to Monaco. The former Liverpool captain, 34, is understood to be keen to make the switch before Monday’s transfer deadline. Monaco are in the market for an experienced midfielder and want to sign Henderson, but are unwilling to pay a fee because of his age.

According to sources in Holland, former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson had threatened to go on strike if they did not allow him to move to France during a heated telephone call
