Maryland star guards Ja'Kobi Gillespie and Rodney Rice entered the transfer portal on Monday, a day after Kevin Willard accepted the vacant job at Villanova amid a cloud of conflict with power-brokers.

The Villanova Wildcats have hired Maryland's Kevin Willard as their new coach. Willard had been linked to the Villanova job throughout the NCAA Tournament, where the Terrapins earned a No. 4 seed and reached the Sweet 16 before losing to Florida.

After Villanova announced Sunday it hired former Terrapins head coach Kevin Willard to take over its own program, both Steve Blake and Greivis Vásquez took to social media and commented on the new Maryland vacancy:
