LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky sheriff accused of shooting and killing a judge inside a courthouse has announced his retirement. Sheriff Shawn ‘Mickey’ Stines is charged with murder in the death of District Judge Kevin Mullins on Sept. 19. Stines pleaded guilty to the charge a week later.
