Heavy rain and flooding are the main areas of concern through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service Nashville. Areas west of Nashville, like Clarksville and Waverly, could see between 6-8 inches of additional rainfall through Sunday on already soggy ground.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Multiple areas in Middle Tennessee had reports of damage after tornado-warned storms rolled through. Areas such as Madison, Kingston Springs, Pegram, Dickson, Gallatin and many other places had reports of damage. In Madison, a business called Line-X in Nashville partially collapsed.

Another round of torrential rain and flash flooding came Saturday for parts of the South and Midwest already heavily waterlogged by days of severe storms that also spawned deadly tornadoes.

An unabated wave of severe storms is continuing its onslaught on states like Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri and Indiana, unleashing life-threatening flash flooding, tornadoes and widespread damage.

It will be a wet start to the morning on Saturday as storms move in overnight and will stick around. The storms are expected to bring a hail threat to parts of our area along with flooding chances to the east and northeast.

The rising water levels have prompted rescues and road closures. The storm, which has killed at least 16 people, doesn’t show signs of letting up.

After a devastating tornado ripped through the town on Wednesday, Dyersburg (Tenn.) residents had to take shelter three more times on Saturday due to tornado warnings as they prepared for possible flooding from heavy rains earlier.

Waters continued to rise in communities from Arkansas to Michigan as the storm, which has killed at least eight, drenched the region. More tornadoes were also possible.
