Democratic Rep. Sylvester Turner of Texas, who long served as the mayor of Houston, died Tuesday night at the age of 70.

Sylvester Turner, a former Houston mayor who began serving in the U.S. House of Representatives in January, died March 5 at his home in Washington, hours after attending President Donald Trump’s address before Congress.
