Samoa Joe returned to AEW after six months on last night's special Maximum Carnage episode of Dynamite, helping allies Hook and Katsuyori Shibata clean house against The Patriarchy.

Hook found himself at something of a disadvantage on Wednesday's "AEW Dynamite," after winning a match against Christian Cage by disqualification. Hook was attacked by Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne, leading to a numbers advantage for The Patriarchy.

Kenny Omega will face Brian Cage at AEW Maximum Carnage on January 15th. The bout will be Omega's first AEW match since December 5, 2023 when he defeated Ethan Page on AEW Collision.
