Connecticut State Police has released bodycam footage of troopers arresting a man accused of stealing a Providence police cruiser from Rhode Island Hospital.

A driver was taken into custody after striking two state police cruisers during an escape attempt that led to a pursuit in Windham. State troopers at 10:24 p.m. learned that a motorist had fled from officers with the Willimantic Police Department when they tried to pull a vehicle over, according to Connecticut State Police.

A Pawtucket man accused of stealing a Providence police cruiser and taking it on a joyride down I-95 South over the weekend is slated to face a judge in Connecticut Tuesday morning.
