NATO members could make a short-term pledge to increase defense spending to 2.5% of GDP, moving to 3% by 2030, according to the Financial Times.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the guideline for NATO countries to spend at least 2% of their economic output on defense is “probably history.”

A group of four NATO leaders and a representative from the European Union have admitted they will need to increase their defence spending.
