The human remains found in a suitcase floating in the East River have been identified as Edwin Echevarria, 65, who was allegedly murdered by 23-year-old Christian Miller.

A human torso was found inside a suitcase that was floating in the East River near Governor’s Island on Wednesday evening, according to cops and law enforcement sources. A passing vessel spotted the suitcase and alerted police before an NYPD Harbor Unit was dispatched at around 5:30 p.m., cops said.
