HBO this week confirmed that a number of big name stars will appear in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series. Janet McTeer, John Lithgow, Nick Frost and Paapa Essiedu are among the big names set to play some of the leading characters in the JK Rowling-created project.

You've probably seen that the first six cast members of HBO's Harry Potter series have been announced, including the likes of John Lithgow and Nick Frost confirmed to portray Dumbledore and Hagrid, respectively.

John Lithgow previously stated that he had been cast as Dumbledore, which HBO confirmed Monday, along with Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Those four will all serve as series regulars.
