The Dallas Mavericks gained a favorable position in the three-team race for the final two spots of the play-in tournament Saturday night following a 120-119 win over the Chicago Bulls. The Mavericks swapped positions with the Sacramento Kings and claimed ownership of ninth in the Western Conference after capturing their fourth win in the last five games.

Klay Thompson put up 15 points, one rebound and one assist while shooting 5/12 from the field and 4/9 from the three-point range in his first 21 minutes of playing time. The future Hall of Famer also made NBA history.
