President Donald Trump pardoned nearly all Jan. 6 defendants on Monday night at the Oval Office, after promising at his inaugural parade to sign an executive order on the matter.

President Donald Trump returned from a campaign-style rally at a Washington, D.C., arena to the White House to sign more executive orders, including a sweeping one that pardoned those convicted of storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Just over 1,500 people accused of storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, will have their sentences commuted or pardoned, or their charges dismissed.
