Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to appear in court on Wednesday for the first day of a trial in which he is accused of failing to pay 1 million euros ($1.08 million) in tax on revenue from image rights during his first spell at the club.

Carlo Ancelotti admitted Real Madrid made "a lot of mistakes" but also did "a lot of good things" in a 4-4 draw with Real Sociedad on Tuesday, which saw them reach the Copa del Rey final 5-4 on aggregate.
