Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 were down 0.3% in recent trading, while those linked to the Nasdaq slipped 0.4%. The major indexes rose on Monday and Tuesday ahead of yesterday's Christmas break, a positive start to the Santa Clause rally that investors hope for, as the U.S. market rebounded from last week's downturn .

Dow Jones futures fell modestly Thursday morning, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures, after markets were closed for the Christmas holiday. Treasury yields rose.The stock market rally had a solid advance in the half-day Christmas Eve session.

Treasury yields were rising on Thursday, with the 10-year note once again above the closely watched 4.60% level. The yield on the 2-year Treasury note rose 1 basis point to 4.361%, up from 4.330% on Tuesday.

Some of the biggest winners were mega-cap tech stocks, with Tesla up by 6% while Broadcom, Netflix, and Amazon each gained about 2%.

Dow Jones futures, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures, were mixed ahead of Tuesday's stock market open.The price of bitcoin continued to slide Monday, closing under $94,000 for the first time since Nov.

The Santa Claus rally got off to a strong start with Tesla leading the Nasdaq higher. Nvidia just topped a buy point.
