Major U.S. stock indexes were higher Monday afternoon as the U.S. equities market looks to rebound from a sharp sell-off at the end of last week.

Tesla stock was on fire in early action, soaring 9% in premarket trade and helping to lift the Nasdaq 100. The stock did drop 8% over the last five days, though it's up 47% over the last month.

U.S. stocks are ticking higher as Wall Street recovers some of last week’s sharp slide. The S&P 500 rose 0.3% in afternoon trading Monday.
