BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government on Saturday said all those responsible for the death of a Nepalese student of a private engineering institute KIIT and the alleged assault on the pupils from the Himalayan country would not be spared.

Angry scenes were witnessed in Nepal’s Parliament on Tuesday when lawmakers raised concerns over the death of Nepali national Prakriti Lamsal, a third-year computer science student in KIIT, Odisha, demanding diplomatic efforts for proper security.

Responding to a query on KIIT student death row, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on Friday said that India accords high priority to the safety, security, and well-being of all international students in the country.

KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta and top officials testified before a government committee investigating a Nepalese student's alleged suicide and related violence. The incident sparked political uproar, with demands for a judicial inquiry.
