A round of rain and snow showers arrives in the Pittsburgh area on Saturday, followed by another arctic cold blast coming out of the weekend.

More snow is on the way for parts of Pennsylvania. A storm that will bring snow from the Midwest to the central Appalachians is predicted to take place from Wednesday evening into Thursday night, according to Accuweather.

Two storms are brewing through this weekend that can bring just enough snow and icy conditions to make travel slippery from parts of the interior Southeast and the Northeast as the coldest air of the winter prepares to move in,

We've got some accumulating snow to kick things off. That will be followed by the coldest airmass of the winter season thus far. Finally, in the longer range, it appears that an active/stormy pattern is going to unfold over the next few weeks across the eastern United States.

We’re getting a brief reprieve from the freezing temperatures this weekend, as highs climb back above freezing and into the 40s by Saturday. But it is not going to be an entirely dry weekend. We’re tracking the chance for both rain and snow ahead of another major temperature swing.
