SLIDELL, La. ( WGNO) — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office is remembering Sergeant Grant Candies. Candies was killed while trying to stop a speeding car during a chase along Interstate 10 last month.

Sgt. Grant Candies was killed after a high-speed chase in Slidell. His funeral was held Tuesday at the Harbor Center. Following the service, community members lined Pontchartrain Drive in Slidell to pay their respects during Candies' procession. Candies was escorted to Pearl River where he was laid to rest.
