FIFA, football’s governing body, have announced a plan to address a Palestinian request to ban Israel from world football during a meeting held at their headquarters in Zurich on Thursday.

The FIFA Council has responded to a proposal submitted by the Palestine Football Association [PFA] regarding the Israel Football Association. Back in March, the PFA called for a vote at FIFA's congress in May to suspend Israel because of the ongoing war in Gaza.

FIFA's disciplinary committee will be asked to look into allegations of discrimination raised by the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) after it submitted a proposal to suspend Israel in May, world soccer's governing body said on Thursday.
