Les Bleus skipper Antoine Dupont could follow in the footsteps of New Zealand’s Portia Woodman after being named as a nominee for the World Rugby Men’s 7s Player of the Year.

The World Rugby Awards nominations were released on Monday, with three Springboks nominated in the men's Player of the Year category.

Ireland's Caelan Doris has been nominated for World Rugby's men's 15s Player of the Year award. Doris played a key role in Ireland's successful Six Nations and captained Andy Farrell's side to a thrilling win over South Africa in Durban.

Caelan Doris (IRE) is the only Championship player up for nomination in the men's category. The back rower was a vital cog as Ireland won the Guinness Men’s Six Nations and then captained the team to only a second test victory in South Africa during the summer.
