Freshmen Senator Elissa Slotkin was quick to troll President Donald Trump during her rebuttal speech on behalf of the Democratic Party Tuesday night, dedicating her introduction to poking fun at how long the president’s Congressional address went.
Mich., on Sunday said that she would "withhold" her decision on how to vote to fund the government until Congress gets assurances from the Trump administration that money will be spent the way lawmakers intend.
The Democratic senator sought to contrast Trump with more bipartisan overtures while still advocating that people resist Trump and his agenda.
Trump won the popular vote and the Electoral College in November's election, beating Harris. Ever since, Democrats have struggled to find their party's leader.
