No strangers to making a splash on the opening day of the international signing period, the Rockies have agreed to a deal with infielder Larry Suero, MLB Pipeline’s No. 34 prospect in the 2025 class.
The Colorado Rockies drafted outfielder Sam Hilliard in the 15th round of the 2015 MLB Draft from Wichita State University. At 6’4″ and 236 lbs, Hilliard’s plus speed and ability to hit for power intrigued the Rockies.
Hiura, who was one of the top prospects in the sport several years ago, is looking for another chance in Colorado.
DETROIT -- First baseman Keston Hiura, who spent part of 2024 in the Detroit Tigers organization, has signed a minor-league deal with the Colorado Rockies, MLB.com reported this week. Hiura, 28, signed with the Tigers at the start of last spring training after spending his entire career in the Milwaukee Brewers organization.
