Southwest Airlines is closing two flight attendant bases amid its cost-cutting push that has also led to its first mass layoffs in its more than 50 years of flying.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after a near miss between a Southwest Airlines plane and a jet on a runway at Chicago's Midway Airport was caught on camera.

The incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25 after a jet entered a runway at Chicago Midway Airport "without authorization."
