The National Park Service stays out of the debates about crowd sizes — including for President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration will take place inside the US Capitol on Monday (Jan 20) rather than outdoors because of severe cold, the first time in 40 years that US presidential inaugural ceremonies will be moved indoors.

The inauguration will take place Monday, Jan. 20, at the United States Capitol Building, with Trump expected to take his oath around 12 p.m., according to the National Park Service. The sudden weather-induced change forced a scramble for hundreds of thousands of people who had spent months planning for the swearing-in of the nation’s 47th president.

Trump will attend a signing room ceremony, followed by an inaugural luncheon in Statuary Hall. He then will review the troops on the east front of the Capitol. The parade will take place in Capitol One Arena, where Trump has invited attendees to also watch the swearing in ceremony.
