New Aston Martin driver Tom Gamble has described signing for the British marque to race the new Valkyrie in the World Endurance Championship as a “pinch yourself moment”. The 2018 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year revealed racing for a manufacturer in the top class of the WEC had become his aspiration after switching to sportscar racing in 2019 with a campaign in the GT World Challenge Europe.

The Valkyrie hypercar will compete at 24 Hours of Le Mans in the FIA World Endurance Championship and in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, where it will race in the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Aston Martin is also the first car to compete in both racing series, which speaks to Aston’s competitive ambitions.

Aston Martin has confirmed a racing version of its Valkyrie hypercar will head to Le Mans this summer as it competes in this year’s FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
