Aston Martin is coming back to the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year and hoping to win the event outright for the first time in more than 65 years. To achieve that lofty goal, it will race a V-12-powered hypercar based on its Valkyrie.

This pure racing machine, derived from its road-legal counterpart, marks the brand's return to the pinnacle of endurance motorsport and aims for overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It’s been eight years since Aston Martin unveiled the road-going Valkyrie. Over that timespan, Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll bought the British luxury automaker and its partnership with the hypercar’s co-developer Red Bull Advanced Technologies collapsed.
