Western Minnesota goat tests positive for bird flu; first case of its kind in US historyThe goat was living on a farm in Stevens County that, in February, had a flock that tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, according to the Minnesota Board of Animal Health.
The resulting reduction in "time-to-market" would be a boon for producers, as the generation of a production flock—in the case of goats—could be accomplished within 18 months or less.
