Mohammed Shami’s absence was felt dearly as India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the first time in 10 years. The veteran fast bowler missed out on the five-match series despite making his comeback in domestic cricket as he suffered swelling in his knees.

Mohammed Shami is rumoured to make a comeback to international cricket during India’s white-ball series against England. The last time Shami played for India was during the 2023 ODI World Cup final.

The BCCI has confirmed that Shami is under constant supervision, with NCA physios accompanying him at various domestic venues. This was evident during his participation in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in Rajkot, and more recently, when an NCA physio was seen overseeing both Shami and Hardik Pandya in Hyderabad.
