Emergency responders from the city of Rosemount shut down a section of U.S. 52 in both directions on Wednesday afternoon and evacuated two families from their homes after discovering a leaking propane pipeline owned by Flint Hills Resources and its Pine Bend Refinery.

A leak from a propane pipeline at the Flint Hills refinery in Rosemount led to local evacuations and road closures in the area on Wednesday, though the situation now appears to be under control. Governor Tim Walz said that he has been briefed on the situation at Flint Hills Resources Pine Bend Refinery, located at 12555 Clark Road in Rosemount.
