Texas Tech football had the Big 12's top-ranked signing class last year. The recruiting services are less enthused by the Red Raiders' crop this year.

Another National Signing Day is fast approaching but the Texas Tech football team did most of its heavy lifting for its 2025 recruiting class in December. The Red Raiders signed 19 players out of high school with nine having already reported to Lubbock to begin working with head coach Joey McGuire and the rest of the Texas Tech coaching staff.

The NCAA statistical rankings are finalized after Monday's College Football National Championship, with Texas Tech finishing in the top 10 of several categories, according to the Texas Tech Athletics Department.

National Signing Day for Division I football is Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. Recruits who did not sign during the early signing period in December can sign on Feb. 5. The last day for class of 2025 recruits to sign with a Division I program is April 1.

On Saturday, Head Coach Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders staff welcomed 26 mid-year transfers to begin the spring semester. According to On3.com Texas Tech has the nation’s top class, and 247Sports and ESPN have Tech ranked second.
