Tornado season typically lasts from March through June, according to the National Weather Service, and Kentucky is bound to see several tornadoes each year. Weather data tracked by The Courier Journal showed at least 66 tornadoes were recorded in Kentucky in 2024.
At 3:47 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning in effect until 4:15 a.m. for Greene and Washington counties.
The warning was in place for Dale and Henry counties.
On Thursday at 4:59 p.m. an updated tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 5:30 p.m. for Lauderdale County.
