Winter Storm Warning in place for central NC Fri into Sat, 1-3 inches of snow expected
The ABC11 First Alert Weather Team is alerting everyone to the possibility of wintry precipitation starting Fri evening or night as light snow. It will change over to sleet and freezing overnight, and it will only rain by midday on Saturday. The exact transition for central North Carolina is still being tracked by ABC11 meteorologists.

Forecast models are pretty "locked in" regarding storm timing. The weather will be dry east of the mountains until the storm arrives midday Friday. Snow will likely begin sometime between 1 & 4 PM Friday afternoon.
