The Boston College Eagles women’s lacrosse team opened its season over the weekend as the reigning national champions. To start the season, the Eagles went a perfect 2-0 with victories over Loylola Maryland 21-7 at home and Boston University 21-6 on the road.

BC and BU will mark the first time the two schools have faced off in the championship game of the men’s Beanpot title since 2016.

Coming out of the weekend, BC was first in the Hockey East standings and BU third. That puts the rivals on a collision course for another clash in next month’s tournament final.
