The University of Massachusetts fired football coach Don Brown after he led the Minutemen to a 6-28 record over the last three seasons, the school announced Monday.

Don Brown is out as coach of the UMass football team, the university announced Monday. After a 2-8 start to the season, Brown won’t have the chance to coach the final two games against Georgia and Connecticut, with offensive coordinator Shane Montgomery serving as interim head coach after Brown’s firing.

The UMass Minutemen have two games left in the regular season. but they will do that without Head Coach Don Brown.
