After retiring from men's basketball coaching, Jay Wright has settled nicely into multiple roles that keep him in the sports scene.

Jay Wright has been away from coaching NCAA basketball for three seasons. He said he left because he lost the prowess that he built into his reputation over 21 seasons of coaching Villanova. As the landscape of college sports continues to evolve,

At one point, the Villanova Wildcats were viewed as the top team in the Big East and one of the best all-around basketball programs in the country. However, since Jay Wright retired from coaching in 2022,

Villanova needs to get its next hire right. Jay Wright's replacement, Kyle Neptune, missed the NCAA Tournament in all three of his seasons. However, the 2025 Elite Eight defies this pattern, with all four No. 1 seeds—Duke, Auburn, Florida, and Houston—remaining in contention. Additionally, only one No. 2 seed, St. John’s, was eliminated by the 10th-seeded Arkansas in the earlier rounds.
