New Delhi: The Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is set to meet activist Sonam Wangchuk and the people from Ladakh who were detained by the police at the Singhu border last night.

Delhi CM Atishi plans to visit Bawana Police Station after Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk and 150 supporters were detained for violating prohibitory orders during a climate march. Wangchuk's group is pushing for Ladakh's inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution for local law-making powers to protect land and cultural identity.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was stopped from meeting detained Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk and over 100 other volunteers embarked on a foot march from Leh to New Delhi on September 1 to urge the Centre to resume dialogue with Ladakh's leadership regarding their demands.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and his supporters were detained by Delhi Police at the Singhu border on Monday night. Section 163 of the BNS has been imposed at Delhi borders, said Delhi Police.
