OpenAI Chief Technology Officer Mira Murati — who has been instrumental in the development of ChatGPT and the artificial intelligence image generator Dall-E — said Wednesday she is leaving the company.

OpenAI chief technology officer Mira Murati is leaving OpenAI, among the companies at the vanguard of the AI boom, after a more than six-year tenure.  Under Murati’s technical leadership, OpenAI sparked the generative AI era with the release of ChatGPT in November 2022.
